Following the world-first T-Rex Leather™ handbag, Lab-Grown Leather Ltd is pleased to share the next expression of this breakthrough material: a pair of sculptural T-Rex Leather™ earrings.
For Lab-Grown Leather Ltd, a subsidiary of BSF Enterprise PLC, this marks another step in showing how bioengineered leather can move beyond a single proof-of-concept piece and into new luxury formats, from handbags to jewellery, and into wider high-value design applications.
Crafted from T-Rex Leather™, the earrings bring together reconstructed ancient collagen-fragment information, advanced cellular engineering and contemporary jewellery design.
The form was inspired by the calla flower, from a plant family that shared the Earth with the T-Rex 66 million years ago. By fusing this ancient lineage with our unique ATEP™ technology, we’ve engineered a wearable reunion of Earth’s history.
Designed and made in Newcastle upon Tyne by Vicky Wade, owner of Tori Lo Designs, the earrings also demonstrate how material innovation can support creative talent close to BSF’s own North East roots.
The strength, flexibility and structure of T-Rex Leather™ continues to offer designers greater freedom to explore sculptural form, folded surfaces and more ambitious jewellery design with a paleo-modern twist.
Leather is no longer limited by what animals we raise. It is being shaped by what biology can be directed to create.
These unique earrings will be worn by Dr Emily Telford at the Cannes Lions 2026 Festival, where T-Rex Leather has been shortlisted for Environmental Innovation.
